Despite the car's size, its small engine allows it to have a relatively low maximum towing weight compared to other cars in its class. The range has a wide range of models, with the latest Quashqai model having a towing capacity of 1200kg. Quashqai is now in its second generation. The first generation Qashqai, originally called the "Nissan Dualis" in Japan and Australia, quickly gained a reputation as a reliable and dependable car with good towing capacity and weight. Pronounced "Cash-Kai", the Nissan Qashqai has become one of the world's most popular compact crossover SUVs. The Qashqai was designed to replace the Mistral/Terrano II as Nissan's rugged offering. It was available worldwide with the exception of the US where it was renamed the "Nissan Rogue Sport". In 2014, Nissan released the second generation Qashqai. One of Nissan's first forays into the SUV market, the vehicle was first launched in Australia and Japan as the 'Dualis'. The Nissan Qashqai is a compact SUV that has been in production since 2006.
